Book Walk

We are going to do a book walk through our copies of The Bully. When we finish the book walk, answer the following questions in the comments.

1. What can you infer about the story based on the front cover?

2. What can you infer based on the back of the book?

3. What do you think the theme is based on the excerpt on the back cover?
Tyray whipped out a knife and held it up to Darrell's face. 
Oh no, Darrell thought, he's gonna kill me right here. This is the end. I've been in California
for three days, and I'm gonna die on the street.

5. What is something that sticks out to you on the first page of chapter 1?

    I think the kid on the front of the book is at school because it says "Bluford High" on his book. I also think that it is in a decently sized town.

    2.I infer this kid had a good life until he moved and then he life changed.
    3.Don't let one change make your life bad.
    4.The bullies and how he can fix it and how he can make his life better.

    1. I think the bullyhit the kids books out of his hands because there is a shadow of a big guy that is the bully and the kids books are on theground.
    2. I think that the kids mom moved him to another town and when he got moved there he got bullied until he is at the piont he isgoing to take action.
    3. I think the kid is getting bullied and when he got to the new school the bully think that he is bigger and tougher than Darrell
    4. I think that be moved to another school will be one and bullying will be another.
    5. I see that they are moving to California in November.

    2. The bully is in a part of a gang and doesnt like anybody in town.

    2. He gets bullied by someone and builds up confidence to fight back.
    3. The theme I think is Anger and craziness.
    4. The topics I think of is Building up confidence and fight back.
    5. When it talks about Darrell's friend moving from the things he knows, love, and enjoy.

    3. The theme of the book is to never bulled because you can kill someone or hurt them really bad.
    4. One topic in the book i think is in there is that you should not bully people because it is a bad thing.

    1. The boy is walking from school, and the bully is from school to but he's also a gang member. but the bully pushes the boy down to the ground. 2. I think the boy will have a tough time, also I think he'll be rich because the cover of the book is
    purple , and purple means royalty. 3. The book is going to be based on a boy who gets bullied in California. 4. I think the topics might be Drugs, alcohol, parents leaving each other, and bulling. 5. I think the boy is sad because he has to move away the city were he grew up from.

    3.Be strong, Stand up for yourself.
    4.Why is Tyray such a bully? Why isn't Darrell not to happy about his mom getting the new job sure they both had to move but at least they're getting money.
    5. When Darrell has to move away from the thing he loves and his best bub, He's really upset that he has to leave all that in Philadelphia and now everything that he new is not in California.
